Saturday 3rd September saw all 10 junior teams, the men’s team and the U6 Development squad return to the Ramsbury Recreation Ground after a lengthy break. It was great to see everyone back!

I am glad to report that our fantastic coaches and grounds maintenance team ld by Geoff Pratt (ok – its really only Geoff!!) worked so hard pre-season to maintain, repair and manage our pitches as best we could. They all did an amazing job and we are thankful for it as there is actually some grass to play even though the pitches are all rock hard. It was time well spent and the first matches have been played as planned.

Our Clubhouse was again packed with parents eager for teas and coffees, cold drinks and snacks and kids wanting the best seller sweety bags. It was great to see all our volunteers helping out Chair Andy Knowles and U8s / U9s Coach Fi Cresswell making sure everyone was looked after including our Ashton Keynes FC guests who were playing the U9s in a friendly match.

2022 is an important year for Ramsbury FC as it is our 135 year birthday as  grass roots football club and with 10 fully filled youth teams and over 170 youth players, a 22 strong men’s team and a 30 strong U6 Development strong the future looks very very good. A lot of this has to do with our fantastic community and the support we receive and the support provided by Arthur and Karen Carrington of Ergo FM Ltd who have agreed to sponsor us for another 3 years with emphasis on our club ethos and culture and ensuring that football needs to be fun and be fund for all.

First games this Sunday and Ramsbury FC wish every club all the best and look forward to hosting all visitors to the Ramsbury Recreation Ground.
