Ramsbury FC youth teams gathered at the Recreation Ground for their weekly training and also to pay their respect to Queen Elizabeth II who died on Thursday.

All teams stopped and reflected during a minutes silence the fantastic reign of our longest serving monarch and who was a long standing patron of the Football Association in addition to a wide range of sports.

It was so good to see everyone today and everyone being so positive after the shock of the Queen’s death. Even the U6s walked across the pitch in silence to show their respect  – as standing still and being quiet was just no going to happen!

All parents, guardians and players attending today, fully understood the need to postpone matches this weekend and were supportive of the minute silence.

It was a great community response and served to underscore what a great community we have and also what a great grass roots football club we have too.

A huge thank to everyone
