Ramsbury FC win 9-1 against Lower Stratton FC to stay top of Div 1!

A great result against a sub par Lower Stratton FC side who to their credit kept battling and kept their sense of humour in what was a very one sided match. And this was with a number of Ramsbury key players missing due to injury! There was a decent crowd and the referee was decent and let the game flow.

Thorpy scored a very good hat trick with his 3rd a belter of a volley and he led the front line in the absence of Jas who on the side line assisting Chris and Sean.

Both Skip and Jake bagged a brace a piece with Jake scoring a superb header from a subline Adam Elmer cross and then scoring an absolute worldy of volley that big Dan nearly got a touch with his head to steal it from him. James Underwood and Zac scored one each with James’ goal rarer than a sighting of Lord Lucan in a line up and Zac’s goal bitter sweet as a lunge to poke in past the keeper and centre half resulted in a pulled hamstring and a likely absence for 3-4 weeks!

Lower Stratton did get their goal and it was deserved as Ramsbury having used all subs were out of shape and looked a bit disjointed.

But a 9-1 win sees the Blue and White sit at the top of the table and 5 out of 5 wins! Brizz had a cracker of a match and the Ramsbury defence was collectively assured and composed with great play out to the wings and not afraid to play long up to Thorpy, Adam and Zac. But special mention to Jake and Skips as Jake has come on massively and played fantastically well and Skips alongside Brizz dominated midfield and produced so many chances to score and scored 2 excellent goals.

Cup game next at Home v Cricklade FC Devs and hopefully another good crowd and a good win.

Ramsbury FC win 8-2 against Redhouse FC Reserves

Ramsbury FC put in a first class performance to win 8-2 against Redhouse FC Reserves. Jas Walsh bagged another brace and Zac Symon also grabbed 2 goals with one a very cheeky free kick to see Ramsbury go 4-1 up, but Redhouse Reserves fought back to make it 4-2! However, they eventually ran out of steam as Ramsbury added another 4 goals with Rhys Kirk grabbing two and one each for Jonah Ponting and Ash Bowles.

A great win for Ramsbury FC that sees them top the league with 4 out 4 wins.

Up next is Lower Stratton next Saturday 11th Oct 25.
