U16 Red Division Champions and Undefeated: Ramsbury FC U16 defeat Bradford Town FC U16s Lions 8-1 with emphatic away win!

On a quite frankly shocking day of rain, Ramsbury FC U16s put in a team performance to keep our hearts warmed on the side lines even if nothing else was warm. Whilst wearing the fabulous new white away kit, kindly donated by our club sponsors Ergo Plus Facilities Ltd, the Division title was ours no matter what the score. But could we make it even better and be undefeated for the season? Yes, we could and an 8-1 victory not only saw Ramsbury win the league, but also remain undefeated. What an amazing achievement for the team who have played brilliant football all season.

With the splendour of our new away kit, it can be certainly said that we “Dazzled” the opposition, though after the game I’m sure the Daz will be needed again in future matches (inside out and 30 degrees, no fabric softner!) Due to the sodden notebook and/or one too many sloe gins on the side lines the actual match report will just consist of goals scored as below:

1 – Ben P assisted by George, with a great through pass and good finish. 2 – Liam assisted by Fred, with a delightful flick over the defensive and tucked away with ease. 3 – George assisted by Byron, again great team movement and defence splitting pass. 4 – Liam assisted by Fred, with a fine cross and well finished. 5 – George, he assisted himself and finished with a clinical shot. 6 – Euan, great shot from the top of the box, struck well and with authority, great finish. 7 – Fred, finishing after a great pass and taking on defenders, leaving him to dink the ball over the keeper. 8 – Ben B – blinding shot from outside the box, which was a true Worldy and a worthy winner of moment of the match. A goal that I’m sure will get better and better when Ben explains it! Top Bins was the outcome….and what a strike.

As always, the defence worked tirelessly to keep the ball moving through the field allowing the attackers to do what they do best. Resulting in Kieran being awarded Player of the Match for his consistent stellar performance. All the squad played their part today as we rotated and gave game time to everyone, who contributed their individual part in the game, so well-done Noah, Ben P, Liam, Owen, Kieran, Reece, Euan, George, Joe, Oli, Josh, Barney, Byron, Ben B and Fred We look forward to the start of the next season which thankfully is quite a few weeks away giving us enough time to get the sparkly white away strip white again…training will continue, along with friendlies, tournaments, and the end of season rewards, so keep an eye on SPOND! Div Title Winner T-shirts have been ordered! Thanks everyone!
