A belated post announcing that Ramsbury FC defeated Marlborough Youth FC in the annual RAMMAR Cup 2019. This is the second year in a row that the local derby tournament has been won by Ramsbury FC and the coveted RAMMAR cup retained in the Clubhouse.

This year’s event was hosted at Ramsbury Recreation Ground and saw over 30 teams compete from under 6’s to U16s with the younger age groups also competing in penalty shoot out competitions.

The day was a huge success and Nicola, Zoe, Chris and team on the BBQ and Bar and Geoff Pratt, his son Ben and his mate Tom Mundy on parking duties were fantastic. Shaun Wood and the referees and coaches were amazing and officiated all games as you would expect and along with brilliant support on the day made this year’s RAMMAR one of the beigest and best so far!

However, the stars were the players and it was great to see so many MYFC Angels teams take part and do so well. The Angels (including my own daughter) seemed to relish the competition and were great fun to watch throughout the day.

The day resulted in a Ramsbury FC win, but the event itself is the real winner as it is certainly a great community fixture between to local grass roots football clubs. Next year MYFC host and I am sure it will be a huge success!
