Ramsbury FC U16s continued their fine home form with a gritty 4-2 win against Cirencester Town U16s in heavy rain and poor conditions.

It was the visitors who were quickest off the mark with a very well executed goal after 5 minutes and who continued to look dangerous on the break. But Ramsbury pulled one back before the visitors went ahead again on the 20 minute mark. Ramsbury switched on and started to dominate midfield play and used the wide areas much better that saw them score two excellent goals to make it 3-2 at half time.

The second half was all Ramsbury as they dominated play and were unfortunate to not go 4-2 up with a controversial disallowed Max Phillips goal. But the decision stood and Cirencester pushed for an equaliser in worsening conditions that saw both teams struggle to stay upright!

Ramsbury went close again with an indirect free kick and a near miss at close range and were finally rewarded with a last minute penalty just before the whistle that was coolly tucked away by Capt Bill Booth.

The score ended 4-2 with two first half goals by Charlie Chambers and another by Drew Wild. It was a tough game and a great result.

Next up is away to Shrivenham who Ramsbury comprehensively defeated earlier in the season, but will be tougher opposition at home.
